what a surprise and delight to come across this illustration by artist jason polan while scrolling instagram over the weekend. the clever artist and jack spade collaborator—who has illustrated every single piece of art on display at MoMA in january 2005 for one book; another, every person in new york, is due out in august and includes a foreword by kristen wiig—has drawn over 30,000 people in new york city.
on this particular occasion, a lovely lady perusing the museum of modern art gift shop on saturday with her kate spade new york bag caught his eye. and when we realized that the lady is also a friend of one of our friends, it became a truly new york moment indeed.
