we actually get really (really) excited about cooking thanksgiving dinner. here, a pumpkin pie isn’t just a pumpkin pie–it’s a chance to pull out a four-generation-old recipe, below, that always steals the desert spotlight. (our advice: make two. you’ll want more later to have with your turkey-cranberry sandwiches.)
speaking of cranberry sauce, try this cranberry chutney, too. the idea of tossing in rich, smokey ground tellicherry pepper at the end is a trick we discovered purely by accident, and are so grateful we did. it totally makes the dish!
