we’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of our city lights lillith skirt, featuring the illustrative work of one of our in-house graphic designers, katie.
to capture new york at night, katie painted the inverse of the city’s lights with black ink and composited her images to form a single print. “this fall, we were inspired by NYC and the girl exploring it. we wanted to use the iconic skyline in our collection and the full skirt lent itself nicely to our big city.”
among the landmarks, you’ll see the empire state building and the chrysler building. katie has hinted that you may also see nods to the new york public library, the empire hotel and a rendering of her apartment in brooklyn (“it’s not absolutely geographically correct”).
whether you’re a city girl, or simply channeling a new york state of mind, we hope you’ll have a ball in our favorite new skirt of the season.
