we’re starting off 2013 with a splash of graphic color. in this year of things we love–where each month we’ll put the spotlight on an iconic kate spade new york idea–in celebration of our 20th anniversary, our adoration of bright hues extends back to day one.
we love putting a spin on classic black dresses with a neon bag or bright cover-up, and extending the bold hues beyond our wardrobe, sparing nary a blank wall or bare lip from a playful, bright touch. paint a graphic square of donovan yellow or mint cream or roy blue (those are the names of our newest colors) onto your bedroom wall? we say, why not?
the secret to supercharged shades looking sophisticatedly sleek (and thus timeless) is to mix them with clean lines or geometric patterns, and an accent of black and white. we’re inspired by color-blocked nails; the set of funny face, one of our favorite films; pop art; even the artfulness of a retro television test screen.
